The French Alps are just as great as Swiss or Italian with one exception ... It is here where we find the roof of Europe. Mont Blanc has been attracting lovers of the mountains but to see it you have to toil, because the mountain is sometimes capricious and often hides in the clouds.
Chamonix Mont -Blanc is best reached by car, but in the winter due to the weather conditions there will be far more difficult. You can also get there from Zurich by train or bus. Weather in the area of the town is very fickle, so it may happen that while enjoying Mont Blanc snow fall on us , then we will get warmed by rays of the sun and in the end get wet by rain.
For mountain lovers, this place is a paradise of ubiquitous mountain equipment stores, and more. You can come here for a coffee and go to the White Lady, because all the climbing equipment you can buy on the spot, tasting the French cuisine, cheese and fondue in the first place .
Choosing a mountain hike around the area, be sure to check weather conditions. As for the lower parts of the mountains are safe, however, above, there are suddenly strong winds. Frequent changes of weather are the bane of climbers but also tourists.
When I was in Chamonix, the Aiguille du Midi ropeway was excluded from use because of the wind speed of up to 100 km/h. Some railways worked and some of them were excluded from use, temporarily trapping tourists who unluckily they were on top.
However, French rescue services operate flawlessly. But it is always good luck when they do not have to get going on the action. Then we can quietly admire the beauty of the majestic mountains and city skyline somewhere in the bottom ...
