The Forbidden City - Pekin (China)
The Forbidden City is a former imperial palace located in the middle of Beijing and listed as a World Heritage Cite. On one the gates from the side of the Tiananmen Square there is a photo of
Mao Zedong. His mausoleum is located on the opposite side of the square.
The palace is surrounded by a defensive wall with towers covered with characteristic for the entire complex yellow tiles, and a moat. Complex were planned along the main north - south axis. In an area with a length of 960 m and width 760 m were built about 800 castles and many smaller pavilions. The palace and the adjacent parks from three artificial ponds create a comprehensive, closed composition.
